Matthew Zielinski scored big in the Gator Fall Classic meet at the University of Florida Nov 14-16. Zielinksi won two bronze medals in the 100-yard backstroke and in the 100-yard breaststroke. He also placed fifth in the 50-yard backstroke and eighth in the 50-yard freestyle.
Zielinski was rewarded with the Coach's Achievement Award because of his longterm dedication to the sport.
Michael Zislin, Jennifer King and Amanda King all accompanied coach Larry Blomberg and the team from Broward Aquatics to compete at the O'Connell Center on the UF Campus.
Jennifer Zislin, Bea Walker, Austin Nelson and Luke Marks (left) braved the cold weather to swim in the Santa Claus Championships. Zislin placed in the top six in all five events with her best in the 50-yard butterfly, where she placed third.
Jennifer Zislin also placed fourth in the 100 freestyle and sixth in the 50 breaststroke and the 100 medley. Marks was second in the 25 butterfly, eighth in the 25 freestyle and first in the 25 breaststroke. Walter was 14th in her freestyle race and Austin placed 36th in the breaststroke.
Walter and Zislin joined their teammates from Davie for a silver medal in the 100-yard freestyle relay.
