Floyd County Association of Educators
On July 15th we have the opportunity to select Barbara Penson, the most qualified candidate, as our choice for Floyd County Clerk of Superior Court.
The person we elect as our Clerk of Superior Court must be not just qualified, but highly qualified to fulfill the exacting duties of the office. The Clerk of Superior Court is charged with, quite simply, record-keeping - being sure all documents such as your deeds are properly registered and maintained. Record-keeping may be the simple way to define the office; the office is not, however, simple to maintain.
This job is not for the novice! We must be sure that the new Clerk of Superior Court has the organizational skills and the experience that will insure the continued efficiency of the office, and the only way to do so is to be sure that we elect Barbara Penson.
All employees in the Floyd County school system have been the beneficiaries of Barbara's efficiency as she has worked at the County Office since 1979. She has been the "go-to" person for countless teachers, administrators, and support personnel as she kept records of staff development programs and participation and Board Policy Services. She maintained records for the Title II, Title III, and Title IV Federal Programs, a job that involved record-keeping to satisfy our federal government! Moreover, Barbara has served in both administrative secretary and the Administrative Assistant levels, and today she maintains student transcripts and payroll records for extended-day teachers, which is closely checked by the State Department of Education.
Just by the nature of her work experience in the Floyd County School System, we can see that Barbara is highly qualified to fulfill the duties of the Clerk of Superior Court. But, all of us who know Barbara also know of her incredible energy level, which allows her to be active in many, many community organizations, from the Noon Optimists (where she has served in countless capacities including President) to the Woodmen of the World Lodge (where she is presently treasurer and has served as President as well), from being the organizer of District Spelling Bees to work with the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce and the American Red Cross.
And these are only a few of the organizations where fellow Floyd Countians have depended upon Barbara's energy and organizational talent.
Barbara Penson needs your vote in the Democratic Primary on July 15th. We need Barbara Penson as our next Floyd County Clerk of Superior Court.
